About  🪦

Hello, I'm Michelle Rodriguez, a graphic designer and visual artist from Tijuana. My work dwells between the beautiful and the disturbing, and it is in the crack between both where my brand Rotting Altar emerges. Here, what's broken is displayed like a bell jar.

Rotting Altar presents itself as an open wound, a shadow that persists over time, challenging the limits of conventional beauty. — The grotesque is not a monster; it is a silenced scream, a truth that bleeds in every stroke. Each stroke is a tear, each shadow an unspoken truth. In the grotesque and the dark, I find redemption, because even in decay, there is something sacred, something still worthy of worship.

This brand has established itself as a space for artistic resistance, offering a visual proposal that not only seeks to impact but also provoke reflection on the nature of suffering and resilience. With its art displayed in various spaces, such as the Casa de la Cultura, Rotting Altar continues to be a reference point in the local art scene, inviting viewers to see the world through a different lens: that of constant transformation.
